If we are to war for her we must bring the right balance of compassion and truth. Jesus’ ministry to the oppressed was filled with compassion for the hurting. While he loved the oppressors too, He consistently wielded the sword of truth at the Pharisees for their oppressive practices. See balance. This Word of truth is a sword, a weapon! Let’s make sure we point it and wield it carefully with wisdom.
God gently calls Elijah out of the cave telling him to come on the mountain top to experience His presence, but Elijah stays in the cave.
So, after looking at a very small part of God’s heart, and what caused God to say David was a man after His heart, do you desire God’s heart in the matters of your life? Humbleness, reverence, trust, love, devotion, obedience, wisdom, and faithfulness are characteristics of David’s heart.
Romans 8:28 states, “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” Here is more of the love of God. He causes everything that we go through in this life to work together for good. What an amazing verse. Think about it. The God of the entire universe works that job that you didn’t get to work for your good and His glory. God causes that flat tire to work for your good and His glory. Maybe there was bad accident that you would have gotten into if not for that flat tire. God works that disease out for your good and His glory. God took our daughter home to be with Him and will work it out for our good and His glory.
Think of how encouraging this is to bless the Lord by reminding your soul and spirit the miraculous ways God has moved in your life. We are people who forget. I know I forget some of the miraculous ways God saved me from death. When I begin to catch something that will trigger the life threatening disease I contend with I tend to panic forgetting how He literally raised me from the dead.
