So, Jesus had a choice of five different areas to heal people. He chose this one area and this one man; why? Was it that this man was the one who had suffered the longest? Could God want us to know that those of us who have suffered for long periods of time have not been forgotten?
When I think about the word wait or rest, I think of how committed Elisha was to Elijah in second Kings chapter two right up to his departure. It showed how he followed him through each stage and the instructions were hold up meaning stop, wait, rest cause if you don’t see it you won’t receive it.
Acts 9 tells us of a man, Saul, going around and persecuting any Christian he could find. God desired to change that and in an awesome way. One day, Saul gets knocked down by a brilliant flash of light. Saul then proceeded to have a one-on-one conversation with the living Christ.
In life, there’s a system that works in cycles, and patterns throughout the year called seasons, seasons are all about change, these times can be very confusing. God made seasons, and cycles, and expects us to know about them, and understand them.
So, are you waiting for that next promotion? Is your ex not paying his proper support? Did disease take someone too early from your life? Was there great division in your organization because of somebody’s words? Have you been shortchanged more times than you care to count any longer?
Growing a garden is not an easy task, and it requires continuous work just like our spiritual walk. It requires drinking at the well of His Spirit, so we are not thirsty and allowing ourselves the painful process of being pruned by the Master Gardener. It also challenges us to protect the work God has done in us by guarding our hearts and not letting the enemy’s weeds take root in our soil. How is your garden looking these days?
