For over the last six years I have felt like once I’ve gotten over one battle, another battle, was right there. There have been times when fear has gripped me causing me to question God’s plans, and whether I was going the right way. My prayers felt like they were hitting no higher than the ceiling or it wasn’t the way how I thought my answers to my prayers would come to pass
We all have a mission and assignment from God, and so often halfway through the mission, we lose hope because we see the setback or we see a mess and can’t understand why we’ve hit this point. Notice I said point. These points are set before us to achieve and accomplish. It is to keep us moving forward. They are like mile markers showing you how much further until the next state or your goal.
So, this morning’s verse is John 15:4-5. Here, Jesus is simply stating that if not connected to Him we are lifeless. I believe God is calling His children to a time of reconnecting with Him, and by doing so, we must disconnect from our priorities and schedules. Just like a branch can’t live or produce without being connected to the vine as it’s the lifeline, we also can’t live without being connected to the true vine which is Jesus Christ.
Stop wondering today why people don’t have time for you or what happened to your friendship and start talking and relating with Jesus. Matthew 11:28 Message translation words it beautifully, “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me, and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest.”
